I have been a LEGO
builder for most of my life. I enjoy building
micro for two reasons. The first is the challenge that it presents. Every sprue mark, machining hole, and mold line becomes a feature. The
second is economy of both space and money. I do not have as much of
either as I would like to have. To this end I also do a lot of CAD LEGO
building. I use MLCAD, AutoCAD, Mecabricks, and SketchUp. Using SketchUp as a base I have created a parts library and do some builds therein.
My grand project is currently building downtown Portland at 1:1000
scale. Each 200'x200' block scales down to an 8x8 plate which is
2-1/2"x2-1/2". Streets are built sideways and elevations at all
intersections are taken into account. See the photos on Flickr.
If you are interested in a microscale build of your house, business,
etc. please contact me. I only use
pure LEGO parts and techniques; no clones, no cutting, no gluing, not
even stickers.
